IT Transition & Onboarding

IT Transition & Onboarding

Switching providers, without the horror stories. A structured takeover in defined phases — so nothing falls through the cracks and your staff barely notice.

Overview

The fear of switching IT providers keeps a lot of firms stuck with one that's letting them down. It shouldn't. Komstadt's transition is a structured takeover in defined phases, designed so nothing falls through the cracks and your staff barely notice the change happening around them.

We survey and document your environment, transfer knowledge from your outgoing provider, shadow your support in parallel until we've proven we can run it, and only then go live under a written SLA. You come out the other side with full accountability restored and a complete set of documentation you own — smaller environments typically complete in weeks, not months.

What's included

A switch with zero disruption.

The switch, phase by phase

1 · Survey & audit

We inventory every device, licence and network element and review your whole setup, identifying the top risks and any urgent gaps. You get a clear picture of what you actually have — often for the first time.

2 · Knowledge transfer

A structured handover from your outgoing provider captures how everything works, and we build a full configuration database (CMDB) of assets, configurations and credentials. The knowledge lives with you now, not in one person's head.

3 · Shadow & parallel run

Our engineers support your environment alongside the current arrangement, practising until agreed benchmarks are met. There's no gap in cover and no risky 'big bang' cutover.

4 · Go-live

Your SLA-backed helpdesk goes active, monitoring and security are deployed, and we take full accountability for your IT. From this point there is one clear number to call and one team responsible.

5 · 30-day review

A formal post-cutover review confirms everything is documented, secured and monitored, and books your first monthly report and strategy review. We close the transition properly rather than just going quiet.

Who it's for

Firms unhappy with a current provider but afraid to switch

Firms whose IT knowledge sits with one person or an outside vendor

Firms that have outgrown a break-fix arrangement

Firms that have never had their environment properly documented

Common questions

The switch, phase by phase

Will switching cause downtime or disruption?
That's exactly what the phased approach prevents. We run in parallel and only cut over once benchmarks are met, with a fallback at each step — most staff experience continuity, not disruption.
What if our current provider won't cooperate?
It happens, and we plan for it. Our survey and audit rebuild the picture independently, and we've onboarded firms whose outgoing provider gave little or nothing — it takes more discovery, but it's very manageable.
